Ok so most of you have probably been through this as well but it makes me laugh every time I remember it. Right after I had my DS (first child) I was really HUGE from the edema swelling from the IV and my milk was taking FOREVER to come in. Finally while I was out in town ONE side decides to come in and while I thought that my size D boobs could not POSSIBLY get any bigger, the ONE said suddenly expanded to larger than a DD. You have to understand that just before I got pregnant I was hardly a B! So totally embarrassed about my lopsidedness I promptly took myself home. A few hours later the other side came in and I was finally as normal looking as a 5'8" tall size 6 pants with DD boobs could possibly be. Majorly top heavy! For the next 2 weeks we really struggled to get my milk supply under control. My poor child would latch on, cause a let down, and then gag from the river of milk that came flooding. He would always pull off as soon as he got the let down cause he could not keep up with it and I would proceed to spray EVERYWHERE! If i did not have a burp cloth in hand (dumb move) than I would get 5-6 foot distances on my continuous flow fountain. I could spray furniture on the other side of the nursery! Needless to say we had many laughs in the beginning of breast-feeding! I was praising the Lord when my breast remembered what they were supposed to do with my 2nd and 3rd children! Much easier the with subsequent lactations! lol Holly
